The Chinese Foundation for Lifeline Express supports the operation of four custom-built hospital eye trains. The four hospital eye-trains provide free surgical treatment to poverty-stricken cataract victims in remote areas of Mainland China. Since the first train begans operation in 1997, over 100,000 patients have had their eye-sight and hope restored.As a home grown Chinese nonprofit organization with roots in Hong Kong, Lifeline Express combines an intimate knowledge of China's underdeveloped regions with a high standard of professionalism and efficiency. Lifeline Express is one of only 69 charitable foundations approved by China's Ministry ofCivil Affairs to accept tax deductable donations and raise funds nationwide and is endorsed by the Ministry of Health.
