The CS is a theatre association established in 1992 in Prague. Its mission statement is to create the positive culture bridges between mentally challenged artists and community. Since 1996, the association has been located in the cultural social center called Citadela Studio. It functions both as a creator and a presenter.Social and cultural activities are as following: * Both original and presented theatre projects * The Bohnice Theatre Company (Theatre Therapy) * Dance & Movement Studios (Indian Kathak, Dance Therapy) * Art Therapy & Painting * Projects of students, youth, and children * Seminars * Happenings and CelebrationsWith the possibility of its own space in the center of Prague, we have fulfilled our long-term goal of creating the alternative cultural territory for the wide community of artists, citizens, and mentally challenged patients.Bohnice Theatre CompanyFirst of all, the Bohnice Theatre Company is a community: an open formation of people with a wide range of experiences, opinions and views. The BTC is also a community of people with different degrees and diagnoses of mental "illness". The core of the group consists of theatre professionals and psychiatric patients (in-patients, ambulant or occasional psychiatric patients) ...enriched by students, therapists, artistic lecturers, friends, and sympathizers. Everyone can come and join us.Our main goal is to experience the process of creation - not the final performance. The opening night is just a partial fulfillment of our collective endeavor. Contrast between immobility and totality of kinetic creation, contrast of rhythmical interplay between gestures and words-sounds, and contrast between collective and individual role, free archetypal motifs (childhood, old age, seasons of the year etc.) are the most fundamental expressive elements of the BTC artistic vision.
