The Citadel's Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) is a student-run investment fund with over $100,000 AUM.the SMIF is an educational organization that seeks to develop and further inculcate students with the financial industry. By reaching beyond the classroom, we provide a hands-on environment where motivated students are able to learn how to utilize financial statements, perform fundamental analysis and valuations, and manage portfolios, all while receiving Bloomberg and MorningStar certifications, as well as hearing and interacting with industry leaders and recruiters.We achieve this hands-on approach by managing a sizable portfolio. Our investment philosophy stems from our Institution's fundamental principle of Leadership, therefore- we aim to invest in high-value companies that understand the importance of strong leadership, because we believe that no matter what economic conditions arise, true leadership will soar during booming environments and persevere through difficult conditions.
