In 2020 we are going to launch the UKs first ‘City Games', a nationwide urban sports competition that will pit the UKs greatest cities in a national tournament to identify the greatest city of them all! The aim of the Games is to foster a sense of belonging, pride and sportsmanship that will provide lasting inspiration to young people across the country – and of course, fantastic interactive entertainment for a mixed live and TV audienceThe Games will consist of a knockout competition that ranks the UKs greatest cities. In each game, two teams will go head-to-head in a series of sporting and intellectual races against the clock which ultimately see only one team being crowned victorious. Sounds simple? It's a bit more exciting than that… The competitions will be taking place in a series of arenas replicating the best bits of the UKs urban environments while the competitions will take urban sports to a new level. Blending disciplines like parkour, free-climbing, x-fit, gymnastics and more, the City Games will create challenges that only the best can winEach team consists of 4 ‘Champions' – 2 men and 2 women - nominated by people from their own city to be the ‘face' of that city Our Champions will carry the hopes and fears of their fellow citizens into a competition where only the fittest, brightest and most agile will win. Liverpool versus Manchester, Edinburgh versus Glasgow, everyone versus London!
