The Crayon Initiative believes in order for children to grow and learn, they require the freedom to be inspired, creative and freedom to express themselves through art. The Crayon Initiative is a non-profit organization with one thing on our mind: promoting the arts for children by providing them access to the resources they need. Crayons are the foundation for achieving this. Though crayons are a basic concept… simply sticks of colored wax. The mere smell, feel, and colors of the rainbow instantly take us back to our childhood. With crayons in hand and a blank sheet of paper, the possibilities are endless. We instantly have the ability to do anything, go anywhere, or be anyone we want to be. Whether it's riding a dinosaur through a rainbow desert, launching a rocket ship into outer space, battling a fire-breathing purple-headed monster, or simply drawing a family portrait. No matter who or where you are, your imagination provides the ideas and these simple sticks of wax bring those ideas to life. Crayons are only the beginning for The Crayon Initiative. As we grow, we will expand beyond wax sticks and provide other opportunities in other areas of the arts for children.
