Daniel Spargo-Mabbs was a bright, articulate and popular 16 year-old from Croydon with a great sense of humour and a huge zest for life. He died on 20 January 2014, having taken 0.5g of MDMA (ecstasy) at an illegal rave in west London a couple of days earlier. This wasn't the kind of thing Daniel usually did. The Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation has been set up by Daniel's parents, Tim and Fiona, in order to try to prevent such a tragedy happening to any other family. Our approach……working directly with young people in schools and community groups through peer mentoring programmes…training and equipping school staff and other professionals to deliver effective and relevant drugs awareness sessions…working with parents and carers to give them the information, awareness and confidence they need…using theatre in education to raise awareness of the issues, through a play based on Daniel's story written by award-winning playwright Mark Wheeller--working in partnership with other related charities and professionals in the field
