The Dash Charity - Domestic Abuse Stops Here. We are a local charity with national reach which has been helping vulnerable victims of domestic abuse since 1976. We manage three safe houses within our local area. At any one time 14 families from across the UK resident in our homes. In addition to our three safe houses we provide a range of services, including our Queen's Award winning Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy (IDVA) and Outreach Service, which supports both female and male victims of domestic abuse. We also provide support to children and young people through our Specialist Children's Service, which has just been named in the Children and Young People Now Awards as "charity Team of the Year". We also have a Mental Health Service and facilitate the Freedom Programme. In 2013/14 we reached out to: • Advocacy and Outreach team supported 1031 clients. • Children's Services team reached out to 185 children and young people through one to one work, 3374 children and young people through the healthy relationships workshop and ran 126 group work programmes. • Refuge Services have supported 28 women and 8 men including 37 children. • Our Mental Health Service has completed 33 assessments, provided therapy to 22 clients and consulted on 421 clients through clinical supervision (individual and group). • We've supported 76 women through our Freedom Programme. • 2018 people have been reached through Community Awareness talks. • We have trained 775 professionals about domestic abuse. • Our Helpline has received on average 6 crisis calls a day (needing immediate support) and 73 calls into service departments.
