The Defeating Epilepsy Foundation is a registered 501c3 not for profit organization in San Bernardino County California located in the Inland Empire. We advocate on a global level for individuals, families, and caregivers who are battling epilepsy. Our mission is to provide the advocacy and educational services needed to help remove the stigma associated with epilepsy.Epilepsy is a neurological disorder resulting in someone having seizures. Currently 3.4 million Americans, 65 million worldwide battle epilepsy. Our founder has been battling epilepsy for over forty years now and understands first hand the frustrations that come with battling epilepsy. Discrimination due to lack of education is the biggest concern. We want to educate not just the epilepsy community, but communities and society as well. Through education we want to remove the stigma and create better educational and economic opportunities for individuals battling epilepsy. We want individuals with epilepsy as well as their caregivers to have the courage to advocate for themselves and know how to achieve overall wellness and realize the importance of working towards their overall well-being.
