The Dempster Family Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those affected by 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome. We do this through partnerships that positively impact the growing community of 22q families around the world in areas of awareness, research, family support networks, and education.We believe that treating symptoms without an urgency to diagnose the cause of those symptoms is an outdated, unproductive course of action for patients with "rare" disorders - like 22q deletion syndrome. At the Dempster Family Foundation everything we do, we do because we believe that individuals living with 22q Deletion Syndrome deserve to be treated by professionals who can diagnose and treat based on an understanding of the unique needs associated with this disorder. Our gut instinct tells us that the true incidence rate of 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome is likely much higher than estimated due to the large number of individuals that go without a diagnosis for years. The Dempster Family Foundation strives to accomplish our ambitious goals by mobilizing creative campaigns like the 22Q Mystery Tour, and our annual grant cycle. We know that even the most difficult of tasks can be accomplished when ordinary people use their imagination and their unique resources to "pitch in" and drive attention to a cause. We believe that people who want to help should be given a voice and we are ever ready to partner with people and organizations that share this vision.
