The Dough Collective (TDC) opened its doors on 31 January 2014 on the busy streets of George Street, Sydney.A visit to The Dough Collective is like NO OTHER bakery. Our ceilings are lined with oversized rolling pins, bread patterned floor tiles and glass display cabinets filled with over 60 bread items that you can sample before purchasing. It is a unique experience that foodies from across Sydney are astounded by.Just one bite of The Dough Collective bread and you will be amazed! So what makes our bread soft, chewy and flavoursome? At TDC we have a number of secret weapons…we create our dough from scratch, it takes us nine days, a handful of ingredients and a traditional method of preparation by our own master bakers to bring it to life.Nine days? Yes you read it right! A majority of our bread contains natural yeast, which is made from fresh raisins. The natural fermentation process takes approximately seven (7) days and is performed in the heart of a TDC store. The remaining two (2) days is to prepare the dough for baking. Then on the 9th day it's ready to be eaten :)If you want to find out for yourself why patience and a 9 day wait pays off then mark a date in your calendar to visit our George Street or Bondi Junction store. We are also on the rise, so watch this space for further details of where and when we will be spreading our breads. We look forward to seeing you in our stores soon!
