The Edible Forest combines health, wellbeing, and gardening together, it is an experience like no other. Located in the beautiful Yarra Valley, our 1 acre food forest has been consciously designed using Permaculture + Hügelkultur principles. Permaculture is based on three ethics that mirror our philosophy – care of the planet, care of community and take personal responsibility for the way you organise your life.Chemical free and proudly organically grown the abundant vegetation has created its own healthy eco-system.Little birds flit around the large netted garden, together with bees and butterflies ensure pollination and seed scattering, which would occur naturally within a forest. Seed gathering and plant shoots allow the regeneration of plants and provide the garden to additional seasonal growth.Booking a Tour, Taste & Educate experience, you will be guided through the Edible Forest, offered tastings of different plants that will be edible + medicinal while wondering through the the lush green space. The Edible Forest Nursery is available to purchase some of the unique and interesting plants for you to purchase and plant in your own home garden. Group Tours and corporate bookings are available, tailored to suit your requirements. The Edible Forest experience also offers preserving classes in our Harvest Hub. Hosted by Louise Ward, owner of The Edible Forest, these offer hands on skills to ensure less food waste and for you to enjoy your harvest year round.
