CENTAWELD was founded by late Eng. Ahmed A. Mekewi as early as 1958 under the name of The Egyptian Centre for Industrial Supplies (AME) for the purpose of supplying most fine quality welding consumables and machines for a progressive economy during the era of founding top industrial economies, i.e. Iron and Steel, Military factories and Shipyards of Alexandria and Suez Canal region in addition to launching the High Dam required for the infrastructure facilities.Later, in 1983, the manufacturing process of welding transformers, welding and cutting torches and brazing fluxes until the manufacturing of submerged arc welding wires was launched locally at Abu-Rawash fabrication site by 1983 under the license of La Soudure Autogene Francaise (SAF).The fabrication of Agglomerated welding flux and the MAG welding wires were accomplished by 2006 at a production total volume of 1500 tons/year.Due to the vastly certified quality of MEKEWI welding consumables our products were successfully exported to Emirates, Libya and Yemen.The company prolonged its activity to distribute and represented certified significant quality welding consumable and machines of trustworthy European sources such as STEL (Italy), Messer Castolin (Switzerland, Germany), Electro Arco (Portugal), COMMERCY (France) and CHEMWELD (Austria).Since 2015, the company is betrothed entirely in fulfilling the task of delivering fine quality welding materials to the Egyptian market based on its vast experience and customers list that include fabricators, distributors and service and maintenance organizations.
