The ElmSeed Foundation is a not-for-profit life skills learning organization for at-risk youth. Engaging "kids on the cusp" beyond the traditional classroom. Our mission is to increase academic readiness, stamina, and outcomes; improve student confidence and self-value; and to link student social-emotional awareness and behavior with improved and practiced responses and conduct. Our focus is to support and coach students through moments of stress, self-doubt, and self-sabotage.Our program is designed to help underserved youth develop and build life skills through the participation in STEM project-based projects, athletic activities, and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions with an emphasis on social-emotional awareness and development. Our integrate program delivers:• a student-centered focus on skills building to drive academic engagement, competence, and completion.• a supportive athletic environment that encourages competition and collaboration to build self-confidence and team connection.• an alternative social-emotional approach to personal discovery and social interaction through equine therapy focused on strategies and practices for communication, problem solving and conflict resolution. Why We Are Different? Thinking Alternatively: Our traditional and over-crowded school systems are not working. Teachers are stretched and students are not engaged. We offer an approach to tackle this problem by fostering the growth and intellectual curiosity . Delivering Differently: Kids come into our lives ready to learn, explore, and embrace the world. We provide a healthy, balanced, and creative environment so they can learn and succeed. We show these kids that they are loved and valued contributors by showing them how to thrive not only as individuals but as members of our society.Achieving Exceptionally: We work to plant the Seeds of Success. We strive to yield strong individuals, students, and communities.
