Volunteers and, eventually, paid contractors, work to preserve written and printed materials, photographs, films, videos, maps, graphics and all forms of artwork. Also, the organization preserves the most basic medium, the spoken word and human memory, by conducting video and audio oral histories and making them available to family members as well as to researchers. The Endangered History Project, Inc., provides training to anybody or any public or civic organization on how to conduct oral history interviews, how to locate and interpret public or private documents, how to produce documentaries, how to preserve media and how to teach others to teach these things.
