The E.P. Systems Group, Inc. (EPSG) is a small economic and environmental planning and policy development/analysis firm that assembles tailored teams of experienced professionals for the conduct of applied research and technical assistance on developmental policy issues. Our focus is on the interaction of economic development and environmental protection and thus the outcomes of public sector environmental policies and interventions into private market processes. We have decades of experience in local economic development and sustainability planning. Beyond work for eight different Federal departments/agencies, our domestic clients have included organized labor and community development corporations, private businesses, policy advocacy organizations, chambers of commerce, and municipal, county and state economic development agencies. The firm has provided grantsmanship and project financing advice services to the full range of its non-Federal clients. We have assisted U.S. local development planners with federal programs administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Economic Development Administration, including brownfield revitalization and other land-based strategic planning. We have addressed energy efficiency and renewable energy as economic development issues since the 1970s oil embargoes and now serve recipients of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants and State Energy Program funds from the Department of Energy. Overseas, we have supported agencies in EU Member States with economic development and environmental management strategies, and institutions in third world countries with planning implementation and addressing the tradeoffs in pursuit of environmentally sustainable economic development planning. Most recently we contracted with the British government for work on the practical economic issues associated with global responses to climate change,
