The Exhibitionists is a curatorial partnership between Zena Friesen and Rachel Lequesne. Its endeavour is to develop multiple curatorial initiatives under a diversity of platforms outside of institutional frameworks. The Exhibitionists applies the idea of curation as an association of different ideas and materials to create comprehensive narratives transcending traditional barriers in visual culture to illustrate concepts. In a time of image over-saturation and excessive visual output, the idea is to create significant meaning to make sense of the visual culture which surrounds us. The Exhibitionists platform is composed of different projects each with their own protocols set within a variety of locations whether in situ or online, and offering myriad approaches creatively tailored to convey concepts free of practical limitations.
