The Exodus Bar is a Christian based social outreach ministry working to challenge negative aspects of our social culture with positive social presence and interaction.Our plan to achieve this is to establish a non-alcoholic bar, venue and hostel to host social interaction not dependent on drug and alcohol usage, providing a platform for the arts and live music to influence our culture in a positive, creative and virtuous way, and to provide cheap and quality accommodation for young people such as back-packers, at risk youth, struggling families, Out Of Home Care services and general use. Through our social engagement we plan to meet the needs of youth and young people who are struggling with issues such as: - Mental health- Addiction- Trauma and abuse- Homelessness or are at risk of.- Medical- Employment- Mentoring- Just in need of some encouragement and a listening ear or someone to pray with/for them. To meet these needs we plan to partner with local agencies and community groups by partnering as a referral service and make sure they have the support and access to these agencies and groups.We currently operate out of a renovated Vintage viscount caravan, serving coffee and non-alcoholic drinks and mixers, with plans in place to move forward in establishing a stronger social presence and bringing the rest of our vision to fruition. We host many of our own events and have been involved many others. We often host Australian and International bands and musicians at various events, support other outreach ministry initiatives, get involved with community events and private events, functions and seminars, sporting events and a general social presence.We are very much still establishing ourselves but we are well underway.
