Individual & Family Services - Orlando, Florida, United States
In 2011, The Faine House was founded by veteran NFL player, Jeff Faine, to offer critical support to young adults aging out of foster care or alone on their path to independence. With 602 known homeless youth in Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties in 2019, the need for a safe place to receive mentorship is indisputable. Faine House staff and volunteers offer guided support on education and occupational opportunities, safe housing, food, transportation, financial literacy, and healthy, sustainable living. In the first decade of services, dozens of Central Florida young adults have opened their first bank account, earned a driver's license, become employed, attended technical school, or gained a college degree. The Faine House is now widely recognized as a leader in Central Florida's network of organizations seeking to end homelessness for young adults.
