The EcoHostel is located within The Farm, one of the nations longest lasting and most successful intentional communities, which began in 1971. The EcoHostel is also a part of The Ecovillage Training Center, which was founded on The Farm in 1994 by Albert Bates. The Farm EcoHostel offers visitors to The Farm a relaxing and immersive communal experience. We have two dormitory rooms, two private rooms, a private cabin and tent camping space. The EcoHostel also offers a communal kitchen, outdoor solar showers, an organic garden, and many wonderful earth-built demonstration buildings. The EcoHostel is designed with passive solar heating, and its electricity is partially run on solar power. All drains in the building lead to constructed wetlands where the wastewater is biologically treated. The entire building is an excellent example of green living!
