The Fashion Connection empowers members of the United States ethical and sustainable fashion community by creating connections across the field, promoting conscious consumption, and producing solutions to industry issues.Through thoughtful partnerships and collaboration we produce high-quality content on both problems and possible solutions. We then partner with key individuals and groups to drive the best solutions forward. Our first knowledge building endeavor focuses on the issue of slavery in the global fashion industry. Due to the industry's lack of transparency and notoriously complex supply chains, at present not much is known about this problem. We know that the fashion industry is the second largest contributor to human trafficking after technology, however much of the information necessary to eradicate human trafficking in this industry is unknown. We believe there is more to uncover here, and are using our knowledge building program to not only illuminate the extent of human trafficking in the industry but also drive forward solutions.
