Nonprofit Organization Management - Annandale, Minnesota, United States
The Fields at Rootsprings is a hybrid worker cooperative, limited-equity cooperative, and nonprofit partnership that provides land-based programs for the healing and retreat of BIPOC (centering LGBTQ+) artists, activists, healers and communities in Minnesota. Based on 36-acres of biodiverse agricultural land in unceded traditional territory of the Dakota people (Annandale, MN; 75-minutes outside of the Twin Cities), The Fields at Rootsprings offers physical space and culturally-affirming programming that gives our folx permission to rest, connect with the land, and be in safety under the care of BIPOC land stewards. We offer overnight stays at three different hermitages/cabins. The land hosts growing space based on permaculture principles, a flock of chickens, a labyrinth in a restored prairie, walking paths in woodlands, abundant wildlife, and a clear, spring fed pond for kayaking, swimming, and fishing. The Fields at Rootsprings continues the legacy of our ancestors committed to Black liberation and Black reparations. We envision a world where our people are nurtured, supported, connected, empowered, celebrated and restored. We believe in the necessity to connect to land and to each other in order to move steadily toward freedom. We are manifesting our ancestors' wildest dreams.
