The First Tee Columbia became an official Chapter of The First Tee in October 2004, through the vision of City of Columbia officials exploring opportunities to bring new programming to Columbia's youth. The City of Columbia Golf Center (now The James Clyburn Golf Center) was named the official home of The First Tee Columbia and has served thousands of kids through the years. Over the years, participants have enjoyed much success playing golf events throughout the Southeast as well as being involved with charitable organizations through area Church, College and Civic groups. Some have gone on to be successful Collegiate Student/ Athletes and all have left the program more prepared to be successful young adults and strong contributors to their communities.The First Tee Columbia and it's facility are available to outside groups for clinics, outings etc, at a very reasonable, per person rate.
