Nonprofit Organization Management - Raleigh, North Carolina, United States
The Fishermen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with UN Consultative status based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our focus is providing aid to orphaned children and refugees, but since 2014 we have expanded into upgrading rural hospitals and veterinary clinics, arranging surgery and other medical services for children, IED and ERW awareness, evacuation assistance and…most recently and intensively…COVID medical aid shipments. We had operations in sixteen countries as of 2013, but have since narrowed our attention to Afghanistan, Columbia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine and Venezuela to be more effective in our effort to help the people. Our method of operation also changed from aid shipments to direct in-country assistance. The Fishermen is directed by Alexander Gowen and Valeria Svistun. Assistant directors include Raven Hutto and Catherine Maher. Our medical directors are Shawn Colwell and Angela Gilliland, and our UN Liaison officers are Katerina Kramarenko and Natalie Reeves. We are all volunteers and are ready, willing and able to assist anyone…anywhere…regardless of complexity and danger. Our website is static and outdated, but you can follow our activities on our Facebook page: The Fishermen International Aid and Relief Nonprofit. Preferred contact is email: the.fishermen.international@gmail.com
