Our mission is to promote models for developing a society based on freedom, responsibility and respect for diversity.The Foundation for an Open Society carries out activities that follow a few strategic directions:Social research and expertise production to underlie better public policies;Advocacy for accountability and efficiency in the public sector;Social inclusion and fighting discrimination;Construction of models for an integrated community intervention.The Foundation for an Open Society was established in 1990 under an initial form of association and in 1997 in its current form. The Foundation for an Open Society has been promoting the open society values in Romania, acting as a catalyst and trainer of the Romanian civil society.To date, the Foundation has developed most of its programs in the fields of sociological research, education, migration, social inclusion, good governance, civic culture and integrated community intervention.
