Low income students can't afford 95% of traditional colleges. At the same time, alternative forms of education are more accessible and valuable than ever before. We distribute $5,000 sponsorships to cohorts of low income high school grads (or GED equivalents) for alternative education - think coding bootcamps, trade school, art school, etc. We select students based on their life story and attributes, not their test scores. We believe in providing full transparency to our donors. When you make a donation to a non-profit, foundation, or philanthropy, you very rarely have the opportunity to meet the human who receives it. 100% of every donation directly funds a Friendly Scholar's education.
