Over 200 schools, 6500-7000 children, from 21 of Scotland's regions will take part in our 2020 Scottish Primary School Glee Challenge. The Challenge is designed to provide and widen opportunities for children and young people by providing a flexible, child centred, accessible song and dance initiative which can help support the needs of children, the school community and the wider curriculum. Entry to the Challenge is free and last year we ran 170 free workshops for school Glee choirs across the country. Every year every child receives a certificate of participation, a medal and this year each child will receive a Glee journal which will enable them to map and reflect on their school journey. This year sees the launch of our Glee Framework which we believe provides the most comprehensive singing framework for primary schools in the country, setting out how Glee and other music initiatives can help establish singing at the heart of curriculum. The framework sets out how Glee and other singing approaches can help improve school outcomes and deliver benefits for the whole school community and how this may be achieved. Our Scotland's Singing Schools awards, due to launch January 2020, will provide recognition and celebration of successful singing and music models in school. The Glee Challenge is a unique, inclusive, exhilarating and rewarding experience for children and schools and best summarised by one of our children 'It's just awesome'
