The Gaia foundation is a Dutch initiative. The Gaia foundation supports the development of a truly social platform: a peer-to-peer platform for giving and collaborating.The gaia platform enables locals, travelers, donors and brands to establish direct connections. It allows them to realize projects efficiently and transparently where needed, by using the knowledge and expertise of locals and travelers and targeted donations of donors and brands. The gaia platform allows users to start a project, join a project, make targeted donations to a project and/or see which other users are collaborating on a project. Participation and collaboration on the gaia platform is made possible by blockchain technology, which provides the option to donate or receive gaia coins and to establish smart contracts that ensure the donor's and project team's goals are aligned. The donations made by donors and brands are transparent as they can be followed on the platform at any time.The gaia platform will be used by the millennials generation, who increasingly choose access and sharing over possession of physical products. They value experience, traveling, connecting with others and adding meaning to society. Gaia enables millennials to experience, travel, socially connect and help others at the same time. Gaia will be the next platform that understands millennials and that puts this understanding to social use.
