At Generous and Grateful we connect excess with need to help people and the planet. We support those rebuilding their lives after tragedy and trauma by sourcing high quality used and excess furniture and white goods. We connect those bulky essential items when they move into housing. We do the big heavy expensive things that seem impossible when you have little, most importantly bed, fridge & washing machine, sofas and dinner tables. We enable recipients to move past pure survival mode, to a point where they may begin to thrive. By removing furniture sourcing from their caseworkers' load allows them to focus on vital support like Mental Health, Employability, Financial and more.We work alongside caseworkers and social workers at Mission Au, RedCross, Marist180, various DV shelters across Sydney and the like. The budget and time savings they enjoy can be better spent on work readiness and mental health support. Our recipients are typically survivors of DV, ex homeless, youth at risk, and refugees. We know that a good night sleep, safe food storage, and cleaned clothes vastly improve their chance of starting again and working towards the life they wish for. It's a simple concept, we are filling a clear gap in the market with supply and demand both plentiful, we simply connect the two, quickly. By working with caseworkers and advocates we sidestep lengthy assessment delays. We are volunteer run, our storage facility is currently near West Ryde Gold Club. In FY2019/20 we withheld 95 tonne of quality items from landfills.Simply put we are in the business of connecting kindness and providing community to those that have lost theirs.Supported by Ryde Council, Goodman Foundation, Payce Foundation, Frasers Property, Armstrong Q, Herbert Smith Freehills, Macquarie University, Koala, Built Construction and more.

At Generous and Grateful, we help people who are struggling by giving them things they need, like furniture and appliances, that they might not be able to afford. We work with organizations that help people who have been through traumatic events, like domestic violence, homelessness, or being a refugee. We want to make it easier for these people to get back on their feet and start a new life. We do this by finding good quality used and extra furniture and appliances and giving them to people who need them. We focus on the big, important things that people need to live comfortably, like a bed, fridge, washing machine, and a table to eat on. This helps people move past just surviving and start to thrive. We work with people who help others, like social workers and caseworkers, to make sure that they can focus on supporting people's mental health, getting them ready for work, and other important things. We also save them time and money by providing furniture and appliances, so they can use their resources for other things. Our goal is to help people who have lost everything, and we're proud to say that in the past year, we've kept 95 tons of good items from being thrown away. We're grateful for the support of organizations like Ryde Council, Goodman Foundation, Payce Foundation, Frasers Property, Armstrong Q, Herbert Smith Freehills, Macquarie University, Koala, Built Construction and more. We believe that by connecting people who have extra things with people who need them, we can make a big difference in our community.
