The programs of the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are designed with the requirements of adult learners and working professionals in mind. CPS offers undergraduate and graduate programs that address the competency requirements of adults working in emerging and rapidly changing professions. The College's innovative programs are typically co-developed through collaboration among University content specialists and outside partners - government agencies, professional associations, consulting organizations, and business and industry leaders.CPS programs draw from multiple academic disciplines and are delivered in flexible formats: face-to-face, online, or a blend of both. By combining University faculty experts with accomplished practitioners, the College of Professional Studies is a catalyst for academic innovation, constructing credentials for the workforce that uphold the University's rigorous standards of academic excellence and respond to the needs of today's professionals. In 2006, The Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) joined CPS, bringing a 20-year history of graduate programs in applied politics. GSPM combines the credentials of rigorous academic programs with the real-world perspective of faculty who are leaders in politics, public policy, and communications. Like other CPS programs, GSPM offers graduate degrees designed for working professionals. In addition to its own programs, CPS provides strategic services to GW by supporting applied graduate programs of GW's other colleges and schools through GW Off-campus Programs. These programs are offered at convenient off-campus locations with schedules designed specifically for the busy adult professional.
