Political Organization - Washington, Washington, United States
The Georgetown Israel Alliance is a student organization at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. GIA celebrates Israeli society while empowering the pro-Israel community on Georgetown's campus. GIA hosts cultural events and receives well-known political speakers such as activist Chloé Valdary, diplomat Dennis Ross, and Minister of Knesset Tzipi Livni. Encompassing a wide array of opinions, backgrounds and perspectives, GIA members seek to engage in deep learning and productive conversations about Israel, united by their base conviction that Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish, democratic state. GIA also looks to open the forum to the larger Georgetown community, contributing to positive dialogue on campus. GIA is run by an executive board headed by a president. The vast majority of GIA students, however, are general members, who access the club's full package of opportunities. They may choose to join GIA's Political, Cultural, or Outreach Team, in order to assume a greater role in the direction of the club.
