The Glow Up Projects, Inc. (TGUP) was created and exists to celebrate, empower, and advocate for BIPOC cultivators, organizers, activists, and professionals across Midwest communities.We pay homage to the freedom of our ancestors, and we preserve that energy by embracing the abundance of identities and expressions of Black & Indigenous Communities of Color. We also value and include those in our community who navigate intersections in their culture, such as bi-/multi-racial folx, those of Pan-African decent, queer people of color, those living with disabilities, and more. We want to change the face of networking and bridge building through programs designed to connect the dots (and resources) for our audience(s): Black & Indigenous entrepreneurs, professionals, and creatives of all identities, professions, and intersectional expressions.BIPOC owned businesses and professionals face an uphill battle navigating and gaining access to community resources and funding.At the root of this disparity, along with longstanding systemic barriers, is simply a lack of knowledge and connections. With values of synergy and social capital at the center of our programming, we understand the importance of creating and sustaining pathways to upward economic mobility for BIPOC communities.
