Political Organization - Cambridge, England, United Kingdom
The Joyce Frankland Society aims to create a discursive space at the University of Cambridge to investigate news and issues related to gender and intersectional feminism. Discussion events are held weekly and cover a range of topics from FGM to catcalling to whiteness and the beauty standard. The Joyce Frankland Society also publishes a biannual zine called 'Frankly Speaking' to showcase unfiltered and unapologetic voices - to let them speak, frankly. Proceeds from the zine have been donated to charities including 'Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre', 'Camfed', a Cambridge-based international charity focused on female education in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Tanzania and Malawi and 'Yarl's Wood Befrienders.'For a comprehensive list of past and present events please visit our Facebook page. For further information about the zine, including requests for copies, please contact us directly. You may also visit our blog at: https://joycefranklandsociety.wordpress.com
