The Green Box Details
Green Box is a youth-driven engagement lab nurturing sustainability leadership in Pakistan. We are developing a diverse, annual cohort of 30 young impact partners who are powerful engines of environmental action and drivers of sustainable thinking and accountability in their communities. Green Box has developed Pakistan's first fully digital youth engagement space where impact partners receive approximately 100 hours of direct training on skills and resources for sustainability leadership, peer mentorship and access to Green Box's exclusive ‘Footprint©' curriculum. They are then encouraged to design and implement innovative capstone projects on environment focused UN Sustainable Development Goals in their communities. With about 20 female impact partners in the 2018-19 cohort, Green Box is uniquely providing an empowering space for young girls in Pakistan to take lead on community-based environmental action, ranging from calling on local leaders to take remedial steps for deteriorating environments, conducting research on potential impacts of climate change on local modern slavery incidence, to developing eco-friendly office stationary using community waste.
