Founded in 2008 in San Antonio, The Hispanic Heritage Center of Texas' is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides educational exhibits and public programming focused on early Texas history until the Republic of Texas era. The Center's offices are strategically located in the historic Moore Building within walking distance to Mission San Antonio de Valero and employs three staff members and an Executive Director. In September 2015, The Center opened its doors to the public. Working closely with expert scholars in the field of Texas history, The Center is currently working with state and local universities to develop new exhibits. This year, The Center will be unveiling a new exhibit, Las Damas de Tejas. The exhibit will highlight noteworthy Hispanic women in early Texas history. The Center is committed to furthering our mission of education in promoting Spanish colonial, Mexican and Native American history in Texas. With a dedicated team, we are able to provide vibrant student and public programming and foster stewardship that we believe will result in pride of heritage.
