The Hotel Orient was originally opened as the Excelsior Hotel in 1875, and underwent an extension in 1884. Joining the state heritage list in 1999, Hotel Orient is one of the last surviving 19th Century hotels in central Brisbane. The hotel retains its 1870s-80s footprint, streetscape presence, unmistakable triangular frontage, and heritage features. Spread over three levels, this pre-federation building features traditional hotel accommodation, an array of space for both dining and drinking.We endeavour to provide professional and courteous service in a relaxed Front Modern and casual atmosphere, while retaining old world charm and heritage.
