The Houston Economics Club (THEC) is an association of economists, analysts, researchers, businessmen, businesswomen, entrepreneurs and academics who meet regularly to network, discuss recent business news and listen to prominent experts share their insights on current economic events. During the program year, monthly luncheons are typically held at the Federal Reserve Houston branch featuring a knowledgeable and engaging presenter. Socials and other events are held periodically as well. THEC is an affiliate chapter of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE).You do not need to be an economist to join THEC. Membership is open to anyone interested in learning about what influences local, state, national and global business and economic trends.The annual membership fee is $25 for professionals and $10 for students and retirees. Proceeds from member dues are used to pay administrative costs and cover travel expenses for out-of-town speakers.
