The Hudli Project is an social business designed to create employment in Hudli village. It is supported by the Khadigram of Hudli Village. Poverty, deprivation and unemployment are resulting in people leaving Hudli and moving to towns in search of a better livelihood. It is the story of any village in India. We intend to arrest this migratory trend. And the only way by which we can see immediate results is by creating productive and sustainable employment in the village itself. Hudli is a test case. If we are successful here, we would have built a model that could be replicated across villages in India. It could create jobs, build self-reliance, support entrepreneurship and prevent uncontrolled migration in the country In essence, by raising urban awareness of rural ingenuity, we would like to trigger a movement where like-minded individuals get together to assist villages in becoming financially independent. The immediate goal of The Hudli Project is to create guaranteed employment for 100 more poor women - for an entire year - by creating demand for the pickles made by the Khadigram. The tasks involves range from marketing to post- fulfillment customer service.
