The HUV Project is a not-for-profit organization, prepared to provide mobile temporary shelter units on an as needed basis to people affected by disasters around the world. Because of the immediate pressing need, our current focus is the earthquake victims of Haiti. The HUV is practical, effective and offers protection from the elements. The rainy season in Haiti is aggravating the relief process and this urgent need must be addressed immediately. At an extremely low cost per unit, the distribution of HUVs is infinitely more cost effective than constructing standard temporary shelters. While more durable than tents, the mobile HUVs also offer a practical solution to bypass the segment of the population who attempt to extort financial profits from disaster.
