The Institution Theater is an improv/comedy theater and school in South Austin that facilitates training of individuals and companies to realize a more fun, more happy version of themselves. Our philosophy is as follows: - We celebrate the artist and poet in everyone while helping them acknowledge their own creativity and its potential to positively influence all aspects of their lives. - We offer a unique viewpoint based on the student developing a stronger sense of self, and drawing from their individual perspective and inspiration to contribute to the creative collaboration of the scene. - We help them trust and develop their voice in a way that achieves joy and overcomes the fears that keep them from it. - We ask our students to acknowledge the non-existence of mistakes, just the unexpected results, and to embrace said results. - We remove the training wheels from this artform.
