The Inventionist Details
The Inventionist is a startup with the intent to make a crowd-sourced think tank for making applications. Basically, any application made by The Inventionist can be broken down into three steps: 1) Ideas: These are user generated ideas that are nothing more than descriptions of potential applications that a user would like to see exist. Anyone can browse the ideas, and members will have the option to discuss, comment, and vote on ideas that they too would like to see exist. Monetary investments can be made on ideas, but any money put down on an idea is not locked in. Based on the success of a program, and the popularity it receives, ideas will move on to the next stage. 2) Funded: When an idea receives either a certain level of popularity, or a specific investment level, it will then be labeled as funded. A funded program is a program in production, and will not be quite as modifiable as an idea. Money invested into funded programs is locked in, and any money invested while it was still an idea also gets locked. Funded programs will have regular updates, screenshots, estimates on completion, and other various notices to keep users in the loop. Also, votes and discussions will build around funded programs on features and improvements any users would like to see. 3) Completed: After a program is completed, it is listed under apps, and is then available for further discussion of the application. This may include bug reports, downloads, and general comments.
