Invicta is Latin for unvanquished, which means: "undefeated in battle", or "an undefeated team". The Invicta Foundation is raising money to build a new home that will accommodate wounded soldiers and their families before rehabilitation. It is the brainchild of Stephen Hall, whose son Ashley lost both legs in an explosion in Afghanistan. We need to raise £500,000 and are looking for donations from companies and individuals, plus sponsors for building materials and specialist equipment. like: Ashley is a British solider, who until the 9th July, was serving in Afghan with 20 Field SQN 36 Royal Engineers, as a counter IED advance searcher. On that day he was hit by an IED (Improvised explosive device), he lost both his legs above the knee, the tips of three fingers, his thumb on his left hand and he ended up with a shattered pelvis. However, he is fighting all the way now. Likewise, Tom, a kingsman from the 1st Battalion, Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, was seriously injured after being shot in the right side of his abdomen while on patrol in the Nad Ali region of Helmand Province, Afghanistan on July 10th. Tom, who had wanted to be a soldier since he was five years old, suffered irreversible damage to his spinal cord due to the bullet being lodged in his body. He also lost his right kidney, spleen and damaged his liver.
