The word Kamellia is derived from an evergreen flower Camellia which symbolises love, care and affection. As a flower blooms and evolves day by day, we at Kamellia try to draw a parallel between the flower and our beloved planet earth.The earth needs to be nurtured and valued in order for it to grow and survive. The incessant and ruthless exploitation of resources for textiles have led to an extreme deprivation of green lands and overflow of sea water. All this is just a tip of the iceberg of what is known as CLIMATE EMERGENCY or climate crisis.The emergent fast fashion industry severely pollutes the environment and generates tonnes of garments which ultimately reach the landfill creating an excessive pile of wastage. Every year approximately 10 million tonnes of clothes are dumped in the landfills of the USA. Workers are made to slog for hours and still paid poorly. Many of them die in fires as a result of terrible safety measures in factories all across the world. Is this the kind of world we want to live in?We at the kamellia want to bring the change. Fashion is powerful and clothes speak directly to us. So why not create fashion consciously and bring about a whole new, much needed revolution.The Kamellia revolution aims at taking the planet back to its roots by promoting sustainable fashion through the usage of organic fabrics. These gentle yet fascinating fabrics are biodegradable in nature, and make a promising effort to cure the planet.As a sustainable fashion brand, we wish to bring back the wisdom, consciousness, compassion and happiness by making judicious choices. This is how we are going to sow the seeds of sustainence and strive to be change makers for planet.
