The Learning Laboratory is a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to offering high-quality non-traditional afterschool, Saturday and summer programs for K-12 students at a reasonable cost for parents. The Learning Lab seeks to inspire and excite students in ways that they may never experience in a traditional school environment with hands-on activities, projects, technology explorations, field trips and travel. The Learning Lab will also engage passionate educators who want to improve their practice and stay abreast of the latest trends in education.Mission: The Learning Laboratory is a diverse community of learners who engage in and create innovative educational experiences driven by passion and curiosity.Motto: "The Learning Laboratory–where school ends and LEARNING begins!"Goals:To offer high-quality, low-cost extracurricular programs for students utilizing the latest tech tools and non-traditional teaching practices throughout the school year, culminating in a full-day summer camp--To engage students and teachers in an ongoing series of unique, authentic off-site learning experiences including local field trips and regional, national and international travel--To offer a full calendar of "a la carte" professional development for teachers addressing a variety of "hot topics"--To create a hub for forward-thinking educators to convene and share ideas/ best practicesThe Learning Laboratory is led by Tinashe Blanchet, an experienced, state-certified teacher and teacher trainer who knows what works in the classroom and how to lead successful professional development for teachers.
