Nonprofit Organization Management - Kennesaw, Georgia, United States
The foundation's name, Leave A Trace, takes its roots from the founding family's involvement in Boy Scouts and backpacking / camping, where one of the maxims is to "Leave No Trace" when outdoors. The principle is simple: don't leave trash, destroy nature, or do any other things that could not only disturb the beauty of nature, but also possibly negatively impact the environment. It's a sound principle, and one we adhere to.However, we believe in life we should do just the opposite. It's critical that we Leave A Trace through our actions and words so we leave the world a better place. That is what this foundation is all about. And that's why the founding family started this foundation: to provide a means for projects around the world to be funded and staffed to help others who have needs. We are primarily focused on providing access to clean water to as many places around the world as we can. It's the largest global socio-economic crisis in the world today, and we want to help eradicate this problem in any way we can. So far, we have led projects in Peru, Dominican Republic and other locations around the world. In the summer of 2016, the foundation's began exploring the possibility of providing vision screening clinics to improve vision for individuals who have little or no access to eye care or corrective lenses. Not long after, the foundation launched their own vision initiative, Clear Vision, and has already initiated projects in Peru.
