Founded in 1996 by pianist Barbara Lister-Sink, the Lister-Sink Institute is a global leader in well-coordinated, injury-preventive piano technique. As an educational organization, the Lister-Sink Institute's mission is dedicated to the prevention of playing-related injury, the enhancement of artistic musical potential, the development of reliable methods for producing consistent technical results, and to scientific research related to well-coordinated, injury-preventive technique in pianists, organists, and all other keyboard musicians.Because technique is the foundation upon which all music-making rests, training in healthful technique is essential for sustaining great music in our time, and for enriching culture as a whole. Income from all training and DVD sales is used to further this mission.
