A series of 21 art pieces, revealed day by day, by a different artist from across the spectrum of the South African artists during the lockdown period. Every day of the 21 day SA lockdown, a participating artist will create a piece that reflects thethoughts, feelings, vision or captured moments of their COVID-19 experience.These will be uploaded every day on social platforms. Each piece forms part of an original collection that will be hosted online and sold during the 21 days at their market-related value. These are available to be sold or reserved on ANY day.This is an extraordinary opportunity for SA artists to provide leadership and generosity and to provide an opportunity in these challenging times.The aim is that that portfolio is VALUED and VALUABLE, now, after the crisis and always. This is key in this initiative, other than immediate response, is sustainability.WHY ARTISTS?Art and artists have always been a critical part of society and culture. They are the record keepers, beauty creators, truth revealers, thought provokers, empathetic visionaries, political disruptors, and human inspirers.Like everyone, they are deeply affected by the calamity that is COVID19. Many have or will lose their livelihoods and have little means to survive. But they absolutely must, the world needs them. Our country needs them. They make the worldbetter, richer, wiser, fairer. They are humanity's lens and the visual authors of our time.We, a friendship and network of businesses, citizens and creators want to ensure this moment in time is remembered and captured. We are a kick-start team that is sure to expand and grow as time races, to include others in the eco-system, also interested in preserving culture and dignity and to be part of building up and sustaining communities in the face of imminent hardship.
