The Maitri Project is a charitable organization providing resources for healthcare, education and housing to monastics in Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka. We locate high impact monastics who live in poor areas that are committed to uplifting and serving local communities. We have currently served over 1500 monks and nuns. Our Monastic partners on the ground serve and teach the oldest wellness methods in the world for creating harmony, wellbeing, peace, and non violence in poor underserved areasl. This creates change at a local level while preserving valuable culture. The practices enrich families and local cultural social life.The Maitri Project has now delivered medicine, masks, solar power, food, and healthcare, and funding for education to over 1,500 monks and nuns throughout Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka. We have also been active in sponsoring meditation retreats for children.
