The Makeshift is a full spectrum events & Management Company, acting as a ‘holding company' encompassing two further brands. Key competencies include: Pop-up tapas, bars and catering, event organisation & management, weddings, private hire, parties, club nights and cookery demonstrations. We also offer consultancy services on bar menus, kitchen menus and development. Our objective is to provide the highest quality in casual dining, bars and management in a fun, authentic and professional manor. The company operates under three brands: ‘The Makeshift' – Our general trading name for non-branded events such as private parties or behind the scenes management ‘Patas Arriba: the Pop Up Tapas Company' – Authentic Spanish tapas & Wine, specialising in Pop-Up events in host venues – or – private catering events/demos ‘Baba Rumba' – A Caribbean themed club night/rum bar, operating from host venues or as a private caterer/bar specialising in Jerk cuisine & Rum Cocktails Some Highlights: *Successfully organised and executed over 50 sold out pop-up tapas events *Organically built a social media following of over 1000 local stakeholders *Worked in conjunction with Ojo Rojo on a 16 week pop up at a local investment bank *Organised three successful ‘Baba Rumba' themed club nights (on going) *Provided catering for the Bournemouth leg of the P1 Powerboat championships *Ran the catering/bar for the ThatGroup Ice Rink Project (2015) – Winner of the Bournemouth Tourism Awards ‘Best night out' category *Managed ‘Nosh Box' – a catering project organised by the Ted Baker/ThatGroup *Received multiple good reviews in local publications *Provided cookery demonstrations for Cook at Purewell (Curry and Tapas to date) *Have consulted on numerous bar and kitchen menus for third party organisations
