Malaika Collective is a multicultural home for Black people from all parts of the African diaspora. We are a global collective of Black creatives, entrepreneurs, activists, artists, writers, designers and problem-solvers who strive to create a space where we can all come together to share our histories, stories and resources with one another. Since 2015, we have created a platform that amplifies the authentic experiences of Black people, creating socially conscious media and broadcasting it to an international audience. We provide a space for people to explore and share their love of Blackness and other diasporic cultures through content, goods, and services. Whether it is through simple greetings, clothing that inspires self-love, or conversations with like-minded people, we provide a platform for Black creatives to share their work, stories, and experiences with the world. We are committed to preserving Black culture and providing a safe space online & IRL for those who are marginalized in mainstream media. What started out as a fashion business: Malaika Apparel Co, slowly shifted into a movement and a community-based multimedia collective. We have provided resources & a platform that highlights important social issues from within the diaspora. Our name change reflects our evolution as we work towards a more accessible and meaningful mission. Our goal is for Malaika to be a space for Black people from all parts of the African Diaspora to share and explore their passions. We want to bring people together and celebrate everything that makes us unique. We center and uplift Black people by providing a platform & space to tell stories and showcase unique & diverse experiences, struggles, and triumphs. We provide a space for our community to connect, celebrate and share.
