In 1932, E. Ward King decided to provide a freight service between the industrial markets of the South and the North. In those days, the Mason-Dixon Line divided the North and the South. The slogan "Now joining the North and the South" developed, and was symbolized by displaying General Grant and General Lee shaking hands.Today, The Mason and Dixon Lines, Inc. continues its tradition with 80 years of superior service to its customers. With a fleet of nearly 425 owner-operators, it has expanded its operations from its "North and South" beginning to include 48 states and Canada, along with providing service in and out of Mexico.
